Our Road To Rebranding!
{A Note From Our Founder!}
After 6 years in business, we've grown to reach a new level of growth which has drawn us to become more community focused than ever before!
As I open new pathways as the Founder of this brand, I seek to continually grow our tribe through custom slow fashion designs and community events. Over the past year, many have noticed my journey in deepening my faith where I've cleaned up & removed certain things, products/services that were not in alignment with my faith as a believer in Christ. I started this brand (Sun Gods) back in 2017 where I established our Bohemian-Afro-Chic concept to highlight our diverse afrocentric culture across the globe. The business was literally named Sun Gods after combining my two favorite loves... The Sun and God which then birthed our tribe name we lovingly call you all "people of the sun" (which means people of God).
As the team and I traveled and learned more about our ancestral history through fabric sourcing, I picked up various golden nuggets along the way that drew me closer to the core of the Black community spiritually. Within this deep dive of self reflection, my faith revealed a huge link that connects us all which made me recognize a lack of storytelling of historical information regarding our history which expands from the United States to the Caribbeans back to the continent we know to be Africa. There's an uncomfortable deficiency in awareness not only for black history but human history as a whole. As I grow my career as a Creative Fashion Designer, I'm shifting my focus to shine more light on faith within the Black community and the God spirit that lives within us using fashion, lifestyle & culture.
What Changes Are Occurring?
New business name & company logo which also means there will be new marketing collateral, apparel labels and packaging under our rebranded name!
Why Is The Company Name & Logo Changing?
Sun Gods has always been a brand that openly spoke about our beliefs/spirituality. However, over the past year as I deepened my faith I've come to realize the name Sun Gods is actually embedded in origins that do not reflect my beliefs at all. The name evokes the spirit of various other religions and cultures which are counter active to my faith in Yahweh/Yeshua/Christ. In understanding this new discovery I immediately felt the heaviness to separate myself from the name and create a new name that was more true to form within it's origins.

Over the past year, you may have noticed the removal of various symbols such as Hamsas on the back of our robes, Crystals and Zodiac Sign jewelry from our Adornments collection. Zodiac signs are also in our current logo. In deepening my faith, I've come to see there was a bit of mixture in religions/spiritual practices that were not of my faith which causes me to do a full clean up in order to have clarity in what I align with and present to the world. Whatever is not of my faith has been removed and all that is true to the core of me has remained. It's important for me to be clear in what I stand for and not lukewarm in any areas of my personal or professional life which includes my business since it's such an extension of who I am. The brand is now maturing from being wanderers of the earth to rooted in fertile soil and I truly love witnessing the growth of that. In contemplating what our new name would be, it actually came to me a lot easier than I thought it would for it's community based and something that rings true to us all...
What Will Be The New Name Of The Brand?
I'm eager to share the name of our new brand but have to wait until all the trademarks and paperwork is sealed and completed. This ensures the safe use and legal protection of the brand as we transition into our elevated path!
What Does This Mean For Shopping/Active Memberships?
In being extremely intentional regarding new designs being introduced to the brand (which are more faith based as well as culture infused), I will need some time to create designs that are both beautiful and unique as our brand is known to be. This will take a few months to complete and roll out for a launch of the new brand name/logo. In that regard, I will need to pause selling our apparel designs over the Spring/Summer months so that we have dedicated time to get all new marketing collateral, labels and packaging needed under our new name and logo.<><><><><><>
All current/available designs on the site will be sold until its all sold out and then we will resume with our LEGACY designs as well as present NEW designs in the Fall/Winter. All monthly memberships will naturally close out this month and will resume during the launch of our rebrand in the Fall/Winter of this year.

What Does This Mean For Gift Cards?
All gift cards under the Sun Gods brand will still be honored under own new name. They can still be used when we resume the sell of our designs and other products this Fall/Winter.

People of the Sun,
I completely adore you all and hope you stay connected as we undergo our rebrand! I know changing a company's name is challenging and many shy away from it at all costs but I built this brand on more than just a name. I built it on community, education, slow fashion, heritage and a legacy that is longstanding. In knowing this I speak life, love I breathe all things light and God driven into future creations. I believe this community is strong and ready for next steps and I thank you all for your continued support as we gear up for Summer events and our big Fall/Winter launch of our rebrand!
